The Terminator was written by James Cameron and came out in 1984.1 It tells of a post-apocalyptic world dominated by a war between humans and artificially intelligent robots, called terminators. The movie was produced at the beginning of the Digital Age, and computer development and use was beginning to increase. Computer companies like Apple and Microsoft had recently been founded and some of the first personal computers were being created. â€Å"Many wondered if society was becoming too dependent of technology†. In addition to computers, all forms of technology were rapidly improving during this time period. The Terminator predicts that the relationship between man and computer turns bad when the computer is given too much power. Ultimately, mankind creates its own downfall. Furthermore, the terminator is seen as superior to the human characters in the movie. The Terminator has no feelings of pain, anger, remorse, or any other kind of emotions. It seems to be a flawless ki ller, unmatched by its weak creators. The Terminator embodies people’s fears of the advancement of technology and its impact on society. The Terminator takes place over the course of a week in the 1980s in an unknown town. The movie is about a robot (a â€Å"terminator†) that goes back in time to kill a woman named Sarah Connor and a man named Kyle Reese who tries to save her. Starting Drama A well-known phrase in the English language is, â€Å"a picture is worth a thousand words.† This catchy slogan is commonly used to convey emotion, individuality, and personality in an image. In the film industry, creating movie posters will indefinitely be a part of the phrase above. According to Alexander (2011), â€Å"a movies poster encompasses the message and feeling of the film, it should be the main source of attention for the release of a new movie† (n.p.). For this project I chose the genre, Drama. Within this genre, I chose three movies that are very diverse to analyze. The movies that I chose were, Holes, Gone Girl, and The Shawshank Redemption. Film Dramas usually focuses on real life issues and struggles; they aim to tell an honest story of the human experience. A movie that is classified as a drama is The Shawshank Redemption. This movie depicts a former banker that was wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and ends up in prison hoping to keep his head up inside of the prison walls. This movie is a perfect example of a drama film; it shows an intense human struggle that could potentially become a reality in the real world. Planning methodologies for the delivery of current and future IT projects For the successful delivery of an IT project planning methodologies can be sub-divided in four phases which are: Phase 1: Project Initiation; It is the mean time of the whole project when the idea of the project is defined, evaluated and authorized. The executive committee of John Banks Information Technology should be given the responsibility to review the project as Project Review Committee (PRC) and meet on a weekly basis and discuss the issues and other managerial decisions (Schwalbe, 2015). This phase may take hours or a week based on the size of the project. Another key point is documentation of the problems issues and successes of the project and lessons learned should also be documented during this phase. Ganttt Charts are most useful and flexible of all management tools but they usually do not show the inter-dependence and importance of those activities which are moving on parallel during the project. One of the drawbacks in Ganttt Chart is that they do not show the importance of any activity which is relied on the completion of another activity as that can be known by using Critical Path Analysis so implementing both the tools in a project management will help in successful and efficient completion of the project. Recommend the Selection of a Particular Methodology and Technique Based on the scenario Waterfall system development methodology will be most appropriate for the delivery of this IT project. Second principle is that it emphases on time scheduling, planning, target dates, implementations and budgets of the entire system at once (Despa 2014). Third principle is to maintain tight control over the whole project cycle by using extensive written documentation. This can also be achieved by formal reviewing and approval/signoff by the management and users of information technology management at each ending phase of the activity or before starting new activity. The situation in the scenario is most appropriate for choosing this methodology for the delivery of the IT project. Waterfall is an ideal methodology for supporting the team which is less experienced or a team who have fluctuate composition. By applying this methodology progress of the system development can be measurable and it is also beneficial in conserving resources. Conclusion Based on the above report it can be concluded that Information Technology projects like John Banks case need proper planning with appropriate tools and techniques which can properly estimate all the objectives of this project. Above report emphases on the phases that can be implemented in the project during execution of the project for its efficient and effective completion at the estimated time. Waterfall technique has been proposed as the better approach because projects like John Banks are big projects with large investment and it can only be delivered efficiently by the approaches proposed in this report.
